Rain Bird XBD81 Xeri-Bird 8-Outlet 1 GPH Drip Device
Brand: Rain Bird | SKU: XBD81
Product Overview
Set up several plant watering points from one riser with the Rain Bird XBD81. The Xeri-Bird body comes with eight factory-installed 1 GPH Xeri-Bug emitters and an integral filter, so each outlet starts with its own metered flow. Run separate 1/4-inch tubes to plants and change individual internal emitters later when plant needs differ.

Compatibility & Installation Notes
Match the 1/2-inch female pipe-thread inlet to the riser and check supply pressure before installation. The manifold does not provide built-in pressure regulation; select a suitable regulator separately when required.
Keep the metering emitters inside the Xeri-Bird body. Rain Bird requires this arrangement to avoid excess back pressure; do not treat it as an unrestricted manifold feeding separate metering emitters at the tube ends.
Connect the 1/4-inch distribution lines to the lower barbs and secure their discharge points at the plants. Leave some slack near the body for service and keep a record of the AβH outlet assignments.
Flush the zone during installation, keep the filter clean, and inspect flow at each plant after changes. Close unused ports with the appropriate plugs.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is XBD81 different from XBD80?
XBD81 includes eight factory-installed 1 GPH emitters. XBD80 is the configurable base unit with filter and removable port plugs; select its emitters separately.
Is 1 GPH the total flow for all eight outlets?
No. Each supplied emitter is rated at a nominal 1 GPH. With all eight operating, their nominal combined demand is 8 GPH.
Does it regulate the supply pressure?
No. Pressure regulation is a separate option. Keep operating pressure within the 15β50 psi range.
Where do the metering emitters go?
Inside the Xeri-Bird body. The 1/4-inch tubes then carry the metered water from the lower outlets to the plants.
Why Buy from Big Frog Supply?
Choose XBD81 when you want eight 1 GPH emitters already installed rather than building out an XBD80 from separate emitters. The top-serviceable 200-mesh filter and removable union-base body help with maintenance, while the eight individual internal ports let you change a plantβs flow without changing every outlet. Match the riser connection and plan the separate tubing runs before installation.
