Rain Bird 1812SAMP45 12-Inch SAM 45 PSI Spray Body — No Nozzle

Rain Bird 1812SAMP45 12-Inch SAM 45 PSI Spray Body — No Nozzle

Brand: Rain Bird | SKU: 1812SAMP45

Product Overview

Provide a 12-inch pop-up stroke where a shorter sprinkler does not clear the planting with Rain Bird 1812SAMP45. Its built-in 45 psi regulator suits appropriate rotary nozzles, while the SAM check valve helps prevent low-head drainage. The 16-inch body requires adequate installation depth, and the nozzle is purchased separately.

Key Features

• Co-molded wiper seal helps resist grit intrusion.
• Stainless steel spring retracts the stem after the zone shuts off.
• Stem ratchet allows watering-pattern alignment.
• Internal components are accessible from the top for service.
• Built-in 45 psi regulator for suitable rotary-nozzle applications.
• SAM check valve helps retain water across elevation changes up to 14 feet.

Common Uses

• Turf or planting layouts requiring a 12-inch pop-up stroke.
• Rotary-nozzle zones needing 45 psi regulation and low-head drainage protection.

Compatibility & Installation Notes

Allow space for the 16-inch body and 12-inch pop-up stroke. Connect through the 1/2-inch female NPT bottom inlet and install to the appropriate finished grade.

Provide enough operating pressure and flow for the chosen nozzle. The 25 psi minimum operating rating does not mean the regulator can deliver 45 psi from a 25 psi supply.

Flush before installing the nozzle and its required filter screen. Align the pattern with the stem ratchet and adjust the nozzle according to its own instructions.

Use a 45 psi body for a nozzle suited to that pressure target. Compare the 30 psi SAM-PRS model for conventional spray nozzles designed around 30 psi. The SAM check valve limits low-head drainage; it does not repair a leaking upstream zone valve.

The gallery includes a family cutaway and a height comparison. Optional side inlets shown on other 1800 models do not apply to this bottom-inlet-only SAM-P45 model.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it include a nozzle?

No. Select a compatible nozzle and its required screen separately to match the watering pattern and zone design.

What is the difference between pop-up and body height?

The pop-up stroke is 12 inches; the body height is 16 inches. Check clearance above grade and installation depth separately.

Will it raise low supply pressure to 45 psi?

No. A pressure regulator reduces available pressure. The supply must support the intended nozzle pressure and flow.

Can I connect this SAM-P45 model through a side inlet?

No. Rain Bird specifies bottom-inlet installation only for this model.

Why Buy from Big Frog Supply?

Choose 1812SAMP45 for the 12-inch pop-up clearance needed in taller planting areas, rather than choosing a shorter body solely by nozzle compatibility. The 16-inch body and bottom-only connection determine replacement fit, while the 45 psi target and 14-foot SAM head capability address pressure and drainage needs. Compare both installation depth and required clearance before ordering.
