Compatibility & Installation Notes
Shut off the zone before opening a spray body. Remove the existing cap and internal assembly, then fit the retrofit internals and tighten the cap. For an 1806 or 1812 conversion, Rain Bird instructs leaving the existing spring in the body.
Connect tubing with the elbow or tee and cap unused Rain Bird 1800 spray bodies with separately purchased 1800XC caps as the conversion requires. Provide access to clean the filter and verify the total drip demand stays within 0.5–6 GPM.
A pressure regulator reduces pressure; it does not boost a low-pressure supply to 30 psi. Select tubing and emitters for the resulting operating conditions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which existing bodies accept the retrofit assembly?
Rain Bird identifies the 1804, 1806 and 1812 bodies. For 1806 and 1812 conversions, leave the existing spring in the body as directed in the conversion guide.
What filtration and pressure regulation are included?
The kit includes an accessible 200-mesh, 75-micron filter and a regulator with a 30 psi outlet target. Adequate supply pressure is required.
Are drip tubing and emitters included?
No. The kit includes the retrofit body/assembly, filter, regulator and elbow/tee fittings. Choose tubing, emitters and any caps for unused heads separately.
What flow range should the converted connection serve?
The published operating flow range is 0.5–6 GPM. Check the combined demand of the connected drip outlets against that range.
Why Buy from Big Frog Supply?
Choose the 1800RETRO when you want to reuse a compatible spray location while adding the filtration and pressure control a drip connection needs. Its 30 psi regulator, accessible 200-mesh filter and included elbow/tee fittings bring those functions together; compatible internals also let you retain an installed 1804, 1806 or 1812 body.
