Compatibility & Installation Notes

Check Wi-Fi reception at the mounting location and record existing zone wiring before replacing a controller. Use the supplied AC adapter with compatible 24V AC irrigation valves; DC transformers are not supported. Install and close the outdoor enclosure according to Rachio’s instructions. Have a qualified installer handle line-voltage connections. A supported flow sensor is required for flow measurements; electrical wiring alerts alone do not measure water flow. Rachio’s four-year Pro warranty requires a qualifying sale and installation by a Rachio Pro.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many zones does 8ZULWC-PS control?

8ZULWC-PS controls up to 8 irrigation zones and has a separate master-valve/pump-relay connection.

Is the outdoor enclosure included?

Yes. 8ZULWC-PS is the Pro package with a weatherproof outdoor enclosure and a 6-foot pigtail.

Which Wi-Fi bands does it support?

The controller supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Check signal strength at the installation location before mounting.

Does the controller measure flow without a sensor?

No. Water-flow measurements require a compatible flow sensor. Faulty-wiring alerts monitor an electrical issue and do not replace a flow sensor.

Why Buy from Big Frog Supply?

Choose 8ZULWC-PS when an irrigation system has up to eight zones and the controller needs an outdoor cabinet. The included weatherproof enclosure and 6-foot pigtail address the outdoor mounting setup, while screw terminals and dual-band Wi-Fi suit a connected controller replacement. Count the existing valve circuits before ordering; choose the 16-zone package if more than eight are needed.
