Product Overview
The Dauer 490061 Hideaway is a recessed low-voltage soffit downlight for compatible 12V MR16 lamps. Its white aluminum housing and gimbaled GU5.3 socket allow the lamp to be aimed from a compact recessed opening.
The separate MR16 lamp lets the installer choose output, beam spread, and color temperature for columns, walls, entries, or planting areas below the soffit. Confirm the required 3.25 in. opening, fixture depth, clearance above the soffit, wire access, and suitability of the mounting location before cutting. Verify the lamp’s GU5.3 base, dimensions, voltage, and wattage, then include its load in transformer sizing and voltage-drop calculations. Use the gimbal to set the direction while limiting glare into windows and normal sightlines, and retain access for future lamp replacement.
