Compatibility & Installation Notes

Check finished grade, the 9-3/8-inch body height and the 6-inch pop-up stroke. Connect through the bottom inlet; the SAM check valve relies on that bottom connection.

Measure operating pressure and confirm the supply supports the 45 psi nozzle target and combined zone demand. A regulator cannot boost inadequate supply pressure.

Choose a compatible Rain Bird nozzle and filter screen, flush before nozzling and align the pattern using the stem ratchet. Follow the selected nozzle’s own radius and arc instructions.

The SAM check valve limits drainage after shutdown; it does not close a leaking upstream control valve.

For flushing, the RD1800 Flow-Shield instructions call for removing internals at lateral or branch ends, flushing until clear, then reinstalling them.
