Rain Bird PGA100/PGA150/PGA200 Globe/Angle Irrigation Valves
Brand: Rain Bird | SKUs: 100PGA, 150PGA, 200PGA
Product Overview
Choose a Rain Bird PGA valve by pipe size and the pressure loss your zone can support: PGA100 has 1-inch female NPT connections, PGA150 has 1-1/2-inch connections and PGA200 has 2-inch connections. Each valve supports globe or angle installation and manual flow adjustment. The optional PRS-D regulator is a separate accessory, so a standard PGA valve does not automatically regulate downstream pressure.
Key Features
- PVC body with glass-filled nylon bonnet.
- Globe or angle installation using the appropriate inlet and closing the unused inlet.
- Non-rising manual flow-control handle.
- Internal bleed for manual operation.
- Filtered pilot flow and normally closed, forward-flow design.
Common Uses
- Automatic landscape irrigation zones with compatible AC valve control.
- Layouts needing a choice of straight-through globe or bottom-inlet angle routing.
Technical Specifications
- PGA100: 1-inch female NPT; PGA150: 1-1/2-inch female NPT; PGA200: 2-inch female NPT.
- Operating pressure: 15–150 psi, subject to temperature derating.
- Maximum continuous pressure by water temperature: 150 psi at 73°F; 132 psi at 80°F; 112 psi at 90°F; 93 psi at 100°F; 75 psi at 110°F.
- Maximum water temperature: 110°F; maximum ambient temperature: 125°F.
- Standard solenoid: 24 VAC, 50/60 Hz; inrush 0.41 A; holding 0.14 A; coil resistance 30–39 ohms.
- Representative pressure loss, globe/angle: 100PGA at 10 GPM = 5.9/5.5 psi; 150PGA at 30 GPM = 1.9/1.3 psi; 200PGA at 50 GPM = 1.5/0.9 psi.
- PRS-D pressure regulation is optional and sold separately.
Dimensions
- 100PGA (height × length × width): 7-1/4 × 5-1/2 × 3-1/4 inches.
- 150PGA (height × length × width): 8 × 6-3/4 × 3-1/2 inches.
- 200PGA (height × length × width): 10 × 7-3/4 × 5 inches.
Compatibility & Installation Notes
Match the female NPT port size, available valve-box clearance and model-specific flow/pressure-loss chart. A series-wide flow range does not establish the capacity of each size. Provide upstream filtration for flows below 5 GPM.
Flush the piping, follow the flow arrow and plug the unused inlet for the chosen globe or angle layout. Manual flow control restricts flow; it is not an automatic pressure regulator.
Gallery illustrations may show the optional PRS-D accessory. It is not included with the standard valve. Battery-controller use requires the appropriate separately selected latching solenoid; the standard AC solenoid is not a universal DC replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which pipe size does each option fit?
PGA100 has 1-inch female NPT connections, PGA150 has 1-1/2-inch female NPT connections and PGA200 has 2-inch female NPT connections.
Does the valve regulate pressure automatically?
The standard valve has manual flow control. Automatic pressure regulation requires the separately selected PRS-D accessory.
Can it operate at 150 psi with hot water?
The pressure rating is temperature dependent. Rain Bird lists 150 psi at 73°F and 75 psi at 110°F; use the published derating table for intermediate temperatures.
Is the standard solenoid suitable for a battery controller?
The supplied standard solenoid is 24 VAC, 50/60 Hz. Battery-controller installations require an appropriate separately selected latching solenoid.
Why Buy from Big Frog Supply?
Choose the PGA size using the pipe connection and its own pressure-loss chart, then use globe or angle routing to fit the valve-box layout. The separate manual flow-control and optional PRS-D functions help distinguish a standard zone valve from a pressure-regulating assembly, while the temperature derating prevents sizing a warm-water installation from the 150 psi headline alone.
